Allan Houston, Captain of New York Knicks, one of the best shooters in the basketball league, came to the Burdenko Institute because of the injuries to his low extremities. Benny Syms, famous tennis coach, referred Allan to see Igor. Exercises in the deep part of the pool helped him to move without pain. It was an eye-opener for Allan. His progression from deep water to shallow water, and land, brought him back on the basketball court in an unexpectedly short time. His programs in the water mimicked the sport. His land program included the Burdenko Belt exercises for added resistance. To speed up the recovery, it was suggested to Allan to use the biofeedback and sports massage. All of it created the synergy with the Burdenko Method.
